Witnessing

Where do I begin, what have I witnessed, my world is skewed by looks. Born with the complexion of sun kissed copper, A face without a blemish, Eyebrows that raise talk, A face of eternal youth. People killed their inner joy, Drain bank accounts, Fake pleasure, To live in the sea of compliments. It is sickening the hatred you see in the eyes looking back at you, The compliments through slithering forked tongues, The pit of snakes circling you, Just waiting to find a flaw and devour you whole. But the average person is looked past for the same task asked of me. They have a heart of gold but are torn down by the constant attention not given to them. My personally can be very deadly if I allow it to. Personality is not my forte. I am crude, to the point, brash, and selfish, But my looks win them over every time. When as a society will we actually pay attention to character traits instead of five seconds of face time? It is an injustice to the aging population and the physically impaired. I know some people who are of better character than myself. I live every day to be honest, I have a god-given gift, But there are people just as beautiful on the inside if you could really see.
