I Riot On Murderous Ground

The streets are full of angry silent men., women and children. I am happy to be a part of this movement. The men are happy they have not become a statistic, the women are grieving for those who have, Trayvon, Micheal, and those who have been unfortunate enough to encounter a cop with a chip on his shoulder. The children all know that something is happening in this world that they were born into. Something that will affect there lives and future. Some for the good, others for the bad.
I can smell the pungent scent of fear, anger and despair. We march in the streets the tension is palpable. The police in Ferguson call this a riot, we call it a peaceful demonstration.
It angers me to see members of the police force in full riot gear. Waiting for the slightest chance to use physical force. Isn’t this what brought us here? To this place of protesting in the streets? When does it ever end? When can we start trusting the police again?
As I walk further into the crowd, I see the pain and hurt in the faces of a community who has lost their faith in justice, the face that holds the pain of hopelessness and distrust is evident. It’s time for us to walk into a new era protest, demonstrate until we are able to see on the horizon a new meaning to life. Where every person on this earth will value life and love each man that inhabits this earth.
Dr. MLK, died because he wanted justice and equality for all and we are still marching.
