Blinded 2 the fact

I've always seemed what some may call naive, green, blind to the fact I think it may come from growing up in such a small, tight knit, sheltered little community. My grandmother did not believe in saying certain words. Most definitely curse words never chooses her lips but even words that she thought were too sensitive for a child's ears got special treatment. Pregnant became “pg” or “in the family way.” Your vagina was a “yoo-hoo” which I would then confuse with the chocolate drink. I didn't even realize I had no father until I started school and other kids began to ask me why he never showed at any of the events. Who knew one was needed? Certainly not I. This type of thinking continued as I grew up and I finally reached the age I could leave the nest and I explored the world on my own to discover what things were and what they were all about. My oh my what a great big world it is and the things and experiences I have uncovered. Maybe too much. Sometimes I yearn to be back in the nest.
